Sakizaya
Sakizaya tribe was comfirmed as 13th indigenous people by council of Executive Yuan on Jan.17, 2003. The major distribution of Sakizaya tribe at hualien county were Hupu, Meilu, Derchin, Zupu, Yemei, Sanshin, Selien, Gichi and Maliwen etc. Others were scattered at Amis tribe. The population of Sakizaya tribe was about 310 peoples (Aug, 2008). The kiza plain and kiza mountain were derivated from Sakizaya. The costume of Sakizaya tribe were yellowish golden and decorated with spine bamboo and tear marbles , it meant that the suffering and the decision to struggle for the terrorists from their clothes. The famous festivals were Sowing festival, Adult festival and Parama fire festival etc.
