Lyric coloratura soprano
She was born in 1960 at Taitung, Taiwan. She studied voice with Prof. Tsai, Shun-Mei and Prof. Hong, Hei-Mei at Tainan College, later with Prof. Chen, Rong-Kwang also. In 1982, she began to study at Vienna’s University for Music and Representing Art (Hochschule fuer Musik und darstellende Kust in Wien) with Prof. Otto Edelmann (one of the greatest Bass in the world), Prof. Margarethe Spaber, and Prof. Rotraud Hansmann.
During her studies in Vienna University she started her singing career in the Vienna Chamber Opera (Wiener Kammeroper) and also in the Summer Festival in the Theatre of Schoenbrunn Palace (Schoenbrunner Schlosstheater). Later she was on tour with “Le Nozze di Figaro” the Opera Studio of the Vienna Conservatory (Konservatorium der Stadt Wien) in many cities of Austria.
Here some roles of her repertory: Zerlina in “Don Giovanni”, Despina in “Cosi fan tutte”, Blonde in “Die Entfuehrung aus dem Serail”, Koenigin der Nacht in “Die Zauberfloete” by W. A. Mozart; Norina in “Don Pasquale” by G. Donizetti; Aenchen in “Freischuetz” by M. v. Weber; Lauretta in “Gianni Schicchi”, Musetta in “La Boheme” by G. Puccini; Olympia in “Hoffmanns Erzaehlungen” by J. Offenbach; and Oscar in “Un Ballo in Maschera” by G. Verdi.
She also has a big repertory of church music, for she used to sing in many churches in Vienna and Klosterneuburg.
In 2000, she went back to Taiwan, and sang a recital in August in Taitung. Now she teaches at National Chiayi University, Tainan University of Technology, Changhua Arts Senior High School.
