Li-Chiu Lan, an associate professor, who received her Master of Music Degree from Peabody Conservatory where she appeared as Pagagena in Die Zauberflöte, Nanetta in Falstaff, Héro in Beatrice et Benetict and Magena in I can’t stand Wagner.
Ms. Lan’s awards include first prize in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition in 1989 and second prize in the Taiwan Music Competition for singers in 1991. Other Awards to Ms. Lan’s credit include a Peabody Music Performance Scholarship and Outstanding Voice Teacher of Taiwan Music Competition.
Ms. Lan had appeared as a soloist with the Taiwan Provisional Chung-Shing Chinese Music Orchestra, and had performed from Taiwan to U.S.A. She also played the role as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Despina in Cosi fan Tutte, Bastienne in Bastien und Bastienne, under the productions of the Taichung Youth Opera Theatre. Repeatedly she sings for various invitations of recitals and the charity concerts, she also has her solo recitals regularly.
Although singing frequently, Ms. Lan still devotes herself to the voice teaching. Many of her voice students win the first prize in the different music competitions, and have the multi-people to get the first prize in the voice group of the Entrance Examination of the University.
Ms. Lan now is the vocal faculty of the Department of the Music in National Taichung University and National Chiayi University. She is the member of the Association of Vocal Artists of R.O.C. and the Taichung Youth Opera Theatre .
