Hortec Kenya 2008 Nairobi, Kenya 5th-7th November 2008

New dates have recently been announced for this show following the earlier postponement. The new dates for the show are Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th November 2008.

HortiFair stand

Kenya has become one of the world's leading producers and exporters of cut flowers and has recently seen a major expansion in fresh vegetable production as well. In 2004 Kenya exported around 100,000 tons of fresh produce. Flowers represented about 40% of this total weight.

Kenya represents a major horticultural market seeking the latest technology to enable its growers to meet the demands of the overseas markets they are supplying. With strong historic and economic links with the UK it is an ideal market for UK horticultural suppliers.

Hortec, held every two years, is the principle horticultural event in the region and attracts visitors from all over Kenya as well as surrounding countries such as Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda; countries which are also seeking to expand their horticultural exports.

UK Group Stand
The CHA had previously secured support from the British High Commission in Nairobi and the International Agriculture Technology Centre to enable UK companies to participate in a UK Group Stand at the 2008 event at very low cost. We are hopeful that this support will now be transferred to the new dates. We will post updates here when available, or alternatively contact us for more details
