Tailored for elementary schools pupils, two-day Rural Life Experience Camp is going to be held by the Agronomy Volunteer Team (AVT) on the recently-harvested farm field on Lantan Campus, NCYU. Pupils interested in participation may contact AVT instructor Hou Chin-Jin.

Activities involved in the two-day camp include lanterns making, making rural-style barbecues, binding straws together, making scarecrows, fashioning traditional toys with straws, learning about plants and visiting ancient farming machines. Besides, there are also activities to experience the life of a shepherd boy, participate in outdoor treasure-hunting games and campfire. The list of various activities not only entertains the participating children but enables them to learn with fun.

The experience camp mainly serves children born into low-income households in the West District of Chiayi City, and secondarily kids from ordinary families. Pupils from lower-income families who study in such elementary schools as Chiao-Pin, Sing Chia, Da Tung, Yu-Ren, Pei-Yuan, Bo Ai, Shih Hsien, Chuei-Yang and Jr Hang can register for the camp free of charge.
