The Graduate Institute of Chinese Literature is dedicated to the studies of literature, culture, and linguistics. The program prepares students for professional careers in areas such as literary studies, creative writing, teaching, journalism, and advertising. Students are required to have a mastery of the classical and contemporary literature of China, Chinese culture, modern Taiwanese literature, and Taiwanese culture. Students should be able to demonstrate abilities in both appreciating and creating literary works. Students are expected to develop their knowledge of educational theories and technical. They are also encouraged to study a second area of specialization.
