Information for Contributors

Journal of Arts Research (The Journal hereafter) is one of the venues for research publications provided by National Chiayi University. It welcomes paper submissions from full-time and part-time faculty members of the university and from domestic and foreign researchers as well. Paper submissions are limited to those which have not been published or considered for publication elsewhere. The Journal is issued once a year in January. The submission deadline is August 31.

The Journal accepts papers written either in Chinese, English, or other foreign languages. Papers should be single-spaced, in 12-point font size, and processed with Word 97 or above. Chinese papers should not exceed 25 pages, while English papers should not exceed 30 pages, including figures, tables, references, notes, and appendices. Contributors are required to provide the following information in the paper, in both Chinese and English: full title of the paper, the author’s name, affiliation, and position, and abstract, which should not exceed 500 words.

Should a paper be implicated in case of plagiarism or copyright infringement, it would be the sole responsibility of the author. Once a paper is accepted, it cannot be withdrawn or submitted elsewhere without the written permission of the Journal.

All submitted papers will be subjected to an anonymous review process. Acceptance of a paper is dependent on the opinions of outside reviewers selected by the Editorial Board. Rejected papers will be sent back to the author. For accepted papers, proof copies will be sent to the authors for error checking against the original manuscripts.

Once a paper is published in the Journal, the copyright is owned by the College. Thirty reprints of each paper will be supplied to the author free of charge. No contribution fee is rewarded.
