News--Welcome to National Chiayi University

　　To establish an academic research platform and think tank reciprocity mechanism with the military, National Chiayi University President Chiou Yi-Yuan signed letter of intent on strategic alliance with Major General Hong Guang-Ming, leader of Air Force 455th Tactical Fighter Wing, at the wing’s Chiayi Airport base on Feb. 4th at 10:00 a.m. According to the alliance, both will be dedicated to practical experience and academic resources exchange, interdisciplinary research, training of human resources, etc. While NCYU will provide the wing’s members with multiple learning channels, the wing will offer guidance to NCYU students on planning a military career.

　　President Chiou specially presented a porcelain painting created by the NCYU Porcelain Painting Workshop to the wing. In his address, he mentioned NCYU placed enormous emphasis on the strategic alliance with the military. It was recognition for the university to be able to offer exchange and cooperation as well as continuing learning channels to the wing’s members, and they are proud to fulfill their social responsibility.

　　The university indicated that the signing of the letter of intent on strategic alliance helps expand the range of mutual cooperation. To achieve mutual benefit and a win-win situation, they will be engaged in exchanging of resources, staff and experience, academic cooperation, human resources training, and management development. They not only hoped to serve the local communities, but open up more opportunities for mutual collaboration and exchange.

　　The signing ceremony was attended by NCYU representatives including Vice President Ai Qun, Academic Affairs Dean Xu Juh-Ping, R&D Dean Lin Han-Qian, College of Science and Engineering Dean Hong Huang-You and Lieutenant Colonel Military Instructor Wang Zheng-Fu, as well as representatives from Air Force 455th Tactical Fighter Wing, including Chief of Staff Sun Ji-Guo, Political Warfare Director Pu Bao-Long and heads of different units. The ceremony concluded successfully.
