Tumor Virology

It is estimated that viruses are a contributory cause of 20% of all human cancers. However, for many years it has been recognized that certain viruses can induce tumors in appropriate experimental animals. More recently, good evidence has implicated some viruses in the development of specific human cancers or naturally occurring cancers in animals. As a result of the importance of understanding human cancer as a route to finding effective treatments. This course will introduce the concepts and basic knowledge about each of the tumor viruses that cause cancer in human or experimental animals.
