Attended 2010 Plant Biology
Two Masters students from the Institute of Bioagricultural Science, College of Agriculture, Miss Hue-Wen Yang and Mr. Yang-Ting Hsieh, attended the 2010 Plant Biology meeting in Montreal, Canada between July 31 and August 4, 2010. Both received a travel grant from the National Council of Science for reporting their research results in the meeting with their supervisor, Professor Maurice S. B. Ku. Miss Yang's work is on rice improvement by expressing maize C4 photosynthesis genes while Mr. Hsieh's research is related to the adaptation mechanism of C4 photosynthesis to low temperatures in Miscanthus species native to Taiwan.
